French Brothers of Alamogordo has won four prestigious awards from the New Mexico Home Builders Association for excellence in homebuilding, including the State’s Grand Award, given to only two builders in the entire state of New Mexico. Winners of 2005 were announced at the association’s awards gala on June 10th at the Hotel Albuquerque in Old Town.

The New Mexico Las Casitas Housing Excellence awards presented to French Brothers are in the categories of Best home design priced under $300,000, Best special feature in a home under $300,000, and Best In-House advertising. The association’s Las Casitas awards, now in their eighth year, recognize outstanding achievements in the homebuilding industry in over 100 categories. The Grand Award is presented to the states best overall builder and is the most coveted award. “It’s kind of like our mini-Oscars and we are honored to be among such great company as the other winners.” says Tom French, Vice President of French Brothers. “We came to Albuquerque knowing we received three category awards, but when our name was announced as the Grand Award winner, we were absolutely thrilled.” French Brothers is the only homebuilder in Otero County to have won these statewide awards in recognition of excellence.

French Brothers is a local family owned business, building homes in Alamogordo for over 25 years. They are a community builder as well, designing and developing neighborhoods such as Tierra de Suenos, Las Alturas and Las Lomas.

The Awards judges, who were not from New Mexico, were not told what company did the project they were reviewing. A total of six judges reviewed participant entries. The Best Home Design and Best Special Feature award is judged on the overall design, attention to detail, balance, function, style, value and sales results.

The Las Alturas Community is the recipient of two of the awards presented to French Brothers. “We believe that Las Alturas is on the cutting edge of community design and I think these awards confirm that.” says Tom French. “Winning these honors is the result of the Malcolm Baldridge quality initiative program we undertook last year, so we are particularly honored. Our team can be proud of the role they play in bringing such outstanding recognition to French Brothers, and we congratulate all the members of the team.”
